There is a first time to see Tommy Castro and whatever form of band he is playing with, for everyone. But, usually there are very few first timers. I did meet one couple that night in Sebastapol that had never seen Tommy play and they said "It was awesome". And, get this, the woman's brother had played with Tommy before back in the day down on the pier, at Lou's. Ahh fond memories. Most of the people at a Tommy Castro events in the SF bay area are have either seen Tommy once or twice or... 100 times. Once you Tommy Castro and Randy on stage you are hooked. I have been following and watching the TCB play since 1998. I have seen him a hundred times all over the bay area. Even in Reno a couple times. He never disappoints. One thing that Tommy can do better than play guitar is charm people. He has an infectious personality and loves to interact with his fans. I don't know about the rest of the world but when he is "Home", in the bay area he has a lot of friends and fans. It's like partying with family. He takes the time to talk with folks and take pictures with them in between sets. And after the show he hangs around for a bit to sign albums shirts, boobs, just about anything you want him to sign. He's a great guy. Every member that has ever played with Tommy Castro Band has been very talented and a very friendly and cordial person to speak with. You just can't say that about a lot of musicians. So Ya, Friday May 16, 2016 at Hopmonk Tavern, in Sebastapol, CA. was another exceptional show by Tommy Castro and The Painkillers. Thanks guys. We will see you in Cloverdale.... Support your local musicians. Dave Z
Tommy Castro has such an amazing voice, the painkillers just highlight this with their awesome instrument playing and easy going image!
Having multiple friends has it own pros and cons, many love the same music as you while many do not and there is no way around this as everybodies taste differs, but sometimes and I say this strongly, sometimes your tastes align and you stumble upon pure greatness! this is exactly what happened!
A friend and I both loving blues music and soul heard of an artist called Tommy Castro and we heard he would be performing so we did what all music lovers did and thought we should give this a go, what is the worst that could happen? Well from that day I have never looked back!
Tommy Castro and the painkillers live are so amazing! When performing 'Nasty Habbits' you truly understood how much chemistry the band had playing together! With Tommy approaching each of them and having a little moment, while the audience jumped and danced and pranced and cheered on as the musician had a solo for himself it was truly superb!
I really got into the band and I have been a fan ever since, nothing will be changing that in the foreseeable future!
These guys are skilled and need to be on a pedestal!
Tommy and the band put on a great show, as usual. He’s a great guitarist and singer, truly feeling the blues as he sings them. Always very engaging with the audience, you leave there feeling as though you’ve been hanging out with good friends, he’s as genuine as they come.
