Los Cafres

Argentinian reggae roots outfit Los Cafres make a truly unique sound and it is refreshing for a band to successfully make music that would not usually be associated with their country of origin. They gained worldwide recognition in the mid-00s following the release of a live album entitled 'Vivo a lo Cafre' so therefore a succinct live show has come to be expected from the group.

They do not disappoint, starting with a creative cover of Michael Jackson's 'Billy Jean' the music simply improves from here. There is a brilliantly DIY appeal to the sounds created as they all feel very natural and organic, not relying on any outer sources of instruments. They harmonise perfectly and bring their instrumentals together in the way only a well trained, in tune band can. The audience remains captivated throughout and allow the band to perform over twenty tracks with absolute ease. The cheers after their encore leaves you with the impression the crowd would have happily sat through another twenty.
