DJ Snake biography

DJ Snake is a French producer at the forefront of the electronic music movement, having taken the genre to the charts with his 2013 single "Turn Down for What" featuring Lil Jon.

Born William Grigahcine, Snake's production work on Lady Gaga's 2011 effort Born This Way earned him a Grammy nod when it was nominated for Album of the Year in 2012. Also in 2012, he signed with Diplo's imprint Mad Decent and released the single "Bird Machine" on the label in 2013. The singles "Slow Down" and "Together" also arrived in 2013, along with more work for Lady Gaga on her ARTPOP album. His big break as a solo artist came late in the year when "Turn Down for What," featuring Lil Jon, arrived and became the most popular crossover trap hit since Baauer's "Harlem Shake."

In 2014 he collaborated with Dillon Francis on the single "Get Low," while 2015 saw him join MØ and Major Lazer on the worldwide hit "Lean On." In 2016, he delivered his debut album, Encore, which included the singles "Middle," featuring guest vocalist Bipolar Sunshine, and "Let Me Love You," featuring Justin Bieber.

In 2017 he became the first artist ever to perform on top of the historic Paris landmark the Arc de Triomphe.

In 2018 he dropped new music including Magenta Riddim and Taki Taki with Selena Gomez, Cardi B and Ozuna which topped Global Spotify chart for over a month giving Cardi B, Ozuna and Selena Gomez their first Global top spot position. DJ Snake will headline at Coachella in 2019.

You may not know the name William Grigahcine, but chances are you probably know who DJ Snake is. They are one in the same person; the world recognized producer, mixer and DJ of the electronic music world. The French artist has worked with the likes of Diplo, Dillon Francis, and even Lady Gaga.
The great thing about DJ Snake’s live shows is the incorporation of a variety of different genres mixed together, unlike a lot of other electronic music performers who have a bit of a problem of their sets becoming tediously the same. There is a distinct difference in all of his sounds, bringing together a wide array of fans, since the genres cross over so much. Also, instead of having an annoying MC do all the hyping and talking, DJ Snake picks up the microphone instead. He is extremely personable in the sense that he speaks quite often to the crowd, even if it is very simple, it’s a nice change of pace from the MCs who say things for no reason and have a disconnect to the music. The crowd loves him, just as much as he obviously loves what he is doing up on that stage.

San Holo absolutely killed it in Seattle. So much energy, hype and good vibes in the venue. His mixing was on point and he displayed a ton of new music. Awesome set by Mr. Holo.
