Nils Landgren Funk Unit

Awesome. Considering this was practically their first gig (certainly their first gig in London), they were tight, professional, amusing and as entertaining as it comes. A packed crowd in a sold out small venue.

I am not good at numbers, but they should not be playing to 100-150 people, they are way too good. They played every track on the album, then a brilliant Hall & Oates cover. Still the crowd would not let them go and threw warmth and applause at them, refusing to leave until they revisited one of the earlier songs.

They even squeezed a 2 piece brass section and saxophonist on to the tiny stage and were clearly enjoying themselves as much as the crowd. Check them out if you can - £10 was criminally cheap for such a fantastic night with a genuinely warm audience.
