Stella & The Longos

Stella & The Longos are coming to BIRD on Tuesday 21 April with their new album Amour Propre.

Amour Propre is the new album by Berlin-based multinational band Stella & The Longos. Following Détends-Toi (2022), the first collaboration between singer Stella Zekri and producer Ed Longo, Amour Propre shows how the band has developed over the past two years. Through extensive touring, the duo grew into a strong live act, joined by top musicians from Berlin. That live energy is central to the album.

Amour Propre was recorded with a full band and sounds warm, direct, and danceable. Live drums and percussion form the foundation, supported by funk guitars, keys, brass, and the tight, recognizable production of Ed Longo. The music moves between Afro-Caribbean influences, boogie, and electronic elements.

Stella’s voice always takes center stage: powerful, sensual, and personal. Her lyrics explore love, self-reflection, and connection, as well as dancing together and sharing the moment. With The Longos as her permanent backing band, Amour Propre sounds exactly like what it is: an album made to be played live.
