Green Jellÿ

Green Jellÿ have set themselves a pretty high bar in their marketing. They promote themselves as the “World’s Worst Band,” unfortunately for Green Jellÿ (pronounced green jello, but spelled differently due to a lawsuit) they need to do a lot more work before they can achieve their bold claim. Don’t get me wrong, Green Jellÿ are far from the greatest rock musicians in the world, but when it comes to entertainment value, few can match the sheer epicness of what goes down at this band’s shows.

Green Jellÿ’s brand of heavy metal comedy rock is one hundred percent, grade A debauchery. It would be sacrilegious to go to one of their concerts sober. In fact, you need to be drunk to fully appreciate their show. I would be surprised if Green Jellÿ has ever finished a concert without having caused some damage to the venue. The band has been banned from multiple places for their outlandish antics, which have included smashing televisions live on stage with a sledgehammer. To be fair, though, it’s not just Green Jellÿ at fault. Fans of the band are just as bad and stock up on bags of green jello before shows to throw at the band while they perform.

In case I haven’t been clear, when going to a Green Jellÿ concert you have to be prepared to get messy. Really messy. Drunk and really messy. You’ll have the time of your life and laugh your head off at the band’s insane antics, and you might even enjoy some of the group’s more popular songs like “Three Little Pigs”, “Green Jellÿ Theme Song” and, last but not least, “Misadventures of Shitman”. Again, the band isn’t as terrible in the music department as they like to make out. Go see the absurdity that is Green Jellÿ as soon as you get the chance. And remember: don’t wear clothes you ever want to wear again.
