Winner of the 2026 7NEWS Young Achiever Award for Career Achievement, multi-instrumentalist and composer Gem is taking over Waywards for an ambitious one-night-only show celebrating the release of his debut single, 'Springtime/Welcome To The Show'.
From navigating homelessness at just 17 right here in the Inner West to taking his music everywhere from local stages to London, Gem has come a remarkably long way. Now at 21, he's spent the years crafting a unique sound he describes as “a rock and roll attitude with a conductor's grace.” It’s a bold cinematic blend, fusing raw rock energy with sweeping orchestra and vulnerable storytelling.
For the first time ever, Gem will be performing with a 5-piece band, bringing an extra layer of power to his arrangements. Expect to see stage props, immersive lighting, striking outfits and on-screen visuals specifically for this evening.
