“True musical genius,” the only way to describe Andrew Lloyd Webber. With over 40 years of insurmountable success, he continues to compose beautiful music. He has composed some of the most iconic music on Broadway, in the movies, and in the music world.
My fondest memories include my mom playing the soundtrack to Phantom of The Opera on vinyl, so when I was finally old enough, and could afford it, I took my mom to see Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera being performed at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California. What was even more exciting was that Webber was actually there to direct. There was a full symphony in the pit and the singers would take the stage. It was really interesting to see a Broadway show but only experience the music. Because of the great acoustics of the venue, and the perfect summer night weather, all you had to do was sit back, close your eyes and let the music just envelope you. It would surround you, and you could completely imagine the story line. The added benefit of not seeing the musical was that Andrew Lloyd Webber also spoke to the audience every so often. Truly an experience of a lifetime to be in such a genius’ presence.
