It’s probably fair to say that P. Diddy has been focusing on his various business ventures than his music this past decade or so - the fact that he’s the world’s richest rapper, despite not actually doing much rapping lately, should attest to that - but he has continued to dabble in recording here and there; he’s not just about the clothing lines, the fragrances and the constant amendments to his stage names. The man known to his mother as Sean Combs put together a band, Diddy - Dirty Money, for his 2010 record Last Train to Paris, with singers Dawn Richard and Kalenna Harper joining him - the record itself also saw a number of high-profile guests from the worlds of music and fashion, with the latter being involved via vocal segues. In support of the album, Diddy hit the road for the Coming Home tour, playing twenty-one dates across his native U.S. The only European date came at Glasgow’s intimate Old Fruitmarket, for an MTV live show, which saw Diddy and the band run through classic cuts from his catalogue, tracks from the album, a couple of questionable covers (of Usher’s ‘OMG’ and Eminem’s ‘Love the Way You Lie’ and even collaborate with UK grime artist Skepta - he might be out of the game these days, with Dirty Money disbanding in 2012, but that’s not to say he doesn’t have his finger on the pulse - on both sides of the Atlantic..
